Prove Your Love for Jesus and Attend this Conference
Just wanted to let you all know of a new annual conference series beginning early next year in southern California. The Los Angeles Theology Conference, the first of which will take place January 17-18, 2013 at Biola University in La Mirada, CA, is the brain child of Fuller Seminary professor and clandestine British theology operative Oliver Crisp. Crisp explains:
As a newcomer to Southern California I was struck by the fact that there was not a regular forum in the LA area where theologians from different institutions could meet and discuss Christian theology…It is our hope that through these meetings systematic theology may be invigorated and new conversations and dialogues across traditions and disciplinary boundaries begun.
So there you have it. Many thanks to Oliver, co-convener Fred Sanders of Biola University, and sponsor Zondervan Academic for giving us a new venue to wear our ill-fitting sports jackets / sensible pant-suits and do our scholarly thang.
The first meeting is entitled ‘Christology: Ancient and Modern: Explorations in Constructive Theology’ and boasts a heavy-hitting lineup of plenary speakers including:
- Oliver Crisp (Fuller Theological Seminary)
- George Hunsinger (Princeton Theological Seminary)
- Peter Leithart (New Saint Andrews College)
- Katherine Sonderegger (Virgina Theological Seminary)
- Alan Torrance (University of Saint Andrews)
So do check out the website and remember: ‘If anyone [does not attend this conference], the Son of Man will be ashamed of him…’
